CELP (Cow Island Environmental Leadership Program) | Rising 9th - 11th
OVERVIEW
This 10-day outdoor adventure for high school students explores elements of what it means to be an environmental leader through active community service, wilderness experiences, and environmental stewardship. CELP culminates in a four day sea kayaking expedition where students volunteer their time to improve the islands of Casco Bay. This program is open to rising 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. Students have the opportunity to earn documented community service hours through this program.
CELP students will get to know Cow Island’s ecosystems and Rippleffect’s sustainability practices by being directly involved in the management of Cow Island’s garden and composting systems. CELP students teach Rippleffect’s younger students to get excited about gardening, play on Cow Island’s zipline and climbing wall, and identify their own leadership strengths.
