Winter Adventure Club
Overview
Have you ever wanted to make a snow fort and sleep in it? Do you want to climb a snow-covered mountain? Do you want to come on a NEW and FUN adventure this winter? Then the Winter Adventure Club is your chance to learn the basics of getting outside in the mountains in the winter! The Winter Adventure Club is open to motivated 7th and 8th grade students and will culminate in a winter camping trip where participants will set up their own winter shelters, settle into camp, and attempt to climb a snowy summit!
Throughout the 6 after-school sessions, Winter Adventure Club participants will practice the skills needed to thrive in an outdoor winter environment including:
Winter Camping Basics
Stove Use
Snow Travel
Winter Shelter Construction
Navigation
Winter Adventure Club members will build confidence and learn what it takes to thrive in a winter environment by completing challenging initiatives throughout the program. The Winter Adventure Club maintains a guide to participant ratio of 1:6, with the group being capped at 12 participants.

Program Dates: The Winter Adventure Club with meet weekly on Thursdays from 1/30 - 3/13 (excluding Thursday 2/20 for Portland Schools February Break week).

Tuition: $595
Limited scholarship funding is available! Please submit a scholarship application, located here, within 48 hours of submitting your child's enrollment request.
Equipment: Rippleffect can provide all essential winter outdoor clothing and travel equipment upon request (boots, layers, backpack, snowshoes)
